We believe that starting a personal relationship with God is the most important decision a person can make. Whether you are new to the faith or have been a believer for many years, we invite you to learn about who God is, what He has done for us, and what His purpose is for your life.
HOW TO BEGIN A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
Realize that you have sinned against God
Everyone was born with an imperfection called sin which causes us to rebel against God and we need to admit this. The Bible is God’s Word and it reads “everyone has sinned and all fall short of God’s glorious standard” (Romans 3:23 NLT). The consequence for sin is eternal separation from God in a literal place that burns with fire and brimstone. The Bible says that there will be a day of judgment and “anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life [will be] thrown into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15 NLT).
Believe that God loves you and sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for you.
God loves you so much that He does not want anyone to end in Hell and sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die a horrible death to pay for your sins. The Bible states that God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8 NLT). It did not end with the death of Christ or His sacrifice would have been in vain. After three days, Jesus Christ rose again and returned in a glorified body where over five hundred people saw Him alive in one sitting. This proves that everything that He said about Himself is true because no one else has ever been able to do this. The Bible that says that Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned (Mark 16:16 NLT).
Repent of your sins and accept Jesus into your heart today.
Next thing you want to do is ask God for forgiveness and repent of your sins. God’s Word says that you must Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away (Acts 3:19 NLT). To repent of your sins means to turn from your sins. This does require that you make changes so that you no longer lead a rebellious life against God and God will help you with this.
All you have to do now is pray this simple prayer to God believing from your heart and confessing it with your mouth:
"Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose on the third day. Right now, I turn from my sins and invite you into my heart and life as my personal Lord and Savior. Please guide my life from now on and give me the strength to resist the temptations which may come my way. Thank You for saving me. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, amen."
Jesus paid the price for our salvation and He gives it to us for free. No one could ever be good enough to earn one’s way into Heaven regardless of what one does. The Bible says “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT).
